Dr. April Ervin, D.V.M.:
Dr. April Ervin was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1987. During veterinary college, she had the opportunity to work at both the St. Louis Zoo and the Audobon Park Zoo in New Orleans as well as doing rehabilitation of birds of prey.

Dr. Ervin moved to the Bay Area right after Veterinary College and spent the following few years working primarily as an emergency clinician.

In 1990, Dr. Ervin came to work at Ygnacio Animal Hospital and in July 1994, she became the owner.

"It has been my pleasure to know some of my clients for 20 years now. I am actually now taking care of pets of my original clients' adult children. I love having that kind of long-term relationship with these families and their pets."

Dr. Ervin has two teenaged sons that she is extremely proud of and who keep her busy. She also has 4 cats and a dog.

Dr. Ervin is certified in Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (V.O.M). An activator, an instrument used by many chiropractors, is used to manipulate the spine in order to reduce pain and improve movement and function to animals suffering from neck and back problems.
